Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive patient intake by gathering medical history and verifying insurance information while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy.
Perform various diagnostic tests including visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, and slit-lamp examinations using advanced optical equipment.
Maintain aseptic technique during procedures to prevent infections and ensure a sterile environment in accordance with clinic protocols.
Assist ophthalmologists during examinations and minor procedures, providing support with equipment setup and patient positioning.
Educate patients on eye health, post-procedure care, and available retail eyewear options to enhance their overall experience and satisfaction.
Collaborate with team members to streamline clinic workflows, improve patient flow, and uphold the highest standards of medical records management.
Qualifications
Prior experience of 2 years in ophthalmology is required. Strong clinic experience is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to eye care.
Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices is advantageous.
Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically across diverse populations including pediatrics.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality and compliance at all times.
Ability to perform detailed clinical tasks such as refractions measurement, intake procedures, and optical testing accurately.
Retail sales experience beneficial for assisting patients in selecting Cataract multifocal lens for surgery.
Knowledge of aseptic techniques necessary for maintaining a sterile environment during examinations and procedures. Embark on a fulfilling
