The Learning Knoll is seeking a Camp Director for the Camp Lion Knoll 2025 season. This position begins the first week of June for planning, organization, and enrollment. Camp will open beginning the last week of June and run for 8 weeks. Once camp opens the position will be a 40 hour a week commitment with flexibility within the first month prior to opening.
The camp enrolls approximately 40 to 60 children daily.
The Camp Director will:
* Work with the Executive Director to oversee a staff made up of: 5 senior counselors, 5 junior counselors, 1 cook, 2 specialists, waterfront staff, and any Summer Youth Employment Program interns. Together provide an orientation for all camp staff prior to the first day of camp.
* Assist counselors in implementing the daily schedule and curriculum. Plan and oversee implementation of special camp wide events, such as Camp Olympics, Wild n’ Crazy Kids Day, etc. This also includes planning art, science, craft, and gross motor activities.
* Maintain positive relationship and line of communication with parents and guardians. Assist counselors with child guidance and children’s individual needs as needed.
* Oversee and manage the administrative systems: USDA summer food program, parent billing, grouping of children and enrollment. Following regulations and licensing policies as well as the Board of Health camp regulations, including all required inspections.
* Oversee the waterfront programming with attention being paid to safety precautions. Ensure that children are accompanied into the water with all counselors daily.
