Do you have experience working with youth in a leadership role and an interest in doing more? Are you an independent problem solver with an interest in providing opportunities to engage youth in a positive way? This may be the role for you! Inspire, create and play!

The Youth Center Coordinator will help provide a variety of important Youth programs, as well as, ensure regular access to a youth-drop in center. The Youth Center Coordinator will be responsible for developing and will lead Youth programs and events that will engage youth in social activities that support the community, develop relationships, and provide teens opportunities to develop lifelong skills. On a regular day the Youth Center Coordinator will ensure appropriate staffing, respond to student and parent inquiries, cultivate partnerships with local social service organizations, businesses and schools, and ensure the center is supplied with equipment and is a well-maintained and safe space. This position includes administrative support of busy Recreation Department office.

To thrive in this position you will have experience working directly with youth in a recreational or educational setting providing mentorship or leading youth through instruction or teaching. The Coordinator must be able to respond to the unexpected and have a strong sense of judgment, act independently and have experience managing responsibilities that may include the security of a facility, and the ability to recognize and manage challenging Youth behaviors with the goal of helping youth to realize their true worth and value as contributing members of our communities. Creativity, engagement, and passtion for youth development is a must.

We are seeking an individual with a passion for working with youth. Associates Degree in recreation or related field; Bachelor’s Degree; or equivalent experience preferred. Must be able to pass a CORI and SORI, and possess a driver’s license.  Position starts at $24.40/hour.
