Theater Adventure is a caring and creative community for artists with disabilities. We are based in Brattleboro, Vermont with broad outreach to surrounding communities. We serve youth and adults who live with a range of physical and developmental disabilities. Our participants actively cultivate their own identity as artists and leaders. They claim the stage with distinction!
Position Overview: The Development Coordinator cultivates and maintains relationships with potential sponsors, donors and foundations, working closely with Leadership team, grants committee, and Board of Directors.
Hours: 12 hours/week with potential for expansion. Flexible hours. Contact with donors may include day or evening hours. This is a one-year grant funded part-time position, with potential for continuation and expansion.
Rate of Pay: $25/hour
Supervisor: Executive Director
Responsibilities:
- Cultivate new donors and maintain relationship with current donors
- Secure sponsorships for Theatre Adventure show seasons with follow up phone calls, emails,and in-person visits
- Collaborate with Outreach Coordinator to maintain sponsor/funder/donor database and coordinate fundraising appeals (Spring and Fall) and occasional special events
- Research potential grantors (public and private foundations) including outreach to potential grantors
- Participate in grant committee meetings, coordinate with contracting grant writer, as requested
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
- Familiarity with fund development activities in a nonprofit setting
- Well organized
- Timely follow through on tasks
- Creative problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Word, Excel and other computer applications
- Excellent communication skills
- Past experiences with a team approach to completion of projects
- Positive approach as a team member and able to work independently on development tasks
